September 2026 Ambience

What I mostly listened to in September, ranked by numbers of plays (per Plexamp).

  1. The Black Dog - Psychick Youth. The Black Dog in abstract and esoteric mode. Music flows seamlessly and has an outside of time quality.
  2. Trá Pháidín - Cloch ’s Claí. Irish traditional(?) mixed with post rock, mariachi music and healthy doses of experimentation/electronics.
  3. Woo - Paradise In Pimlico. If you know Woo then you know. Woo is one of those bands that has flown under the radar but are extremely well respected. No two releases are the same (might be stretching it but it is a very diverse and large catalog
  4. Mastodon - Marrow Deep. Heavy, progressive psychedelic doom rock. Just hits.
  5. Krallice - Inorganic Rites. Experimental psychedelic black metal that somehow keeps getting better and better.
  6. Horse Lords - Demand to Be Taken to Heaven Alive!. If Terry Riley had gone avant pop.
  7. Burial - Burial. South London distilled.
  8. Djrum - Under Tangled Silence. An IDM and ambient workout that reminds you of what electronic music is capable of.
  9. Slomo - Super-Individual: Collective Ritual. Drone and stillness reinterpreted.
  10. Woo - Arcturian Corridor. If you know Woo then you know. Woo is one of those bands that has flown under the radar but are extremely well respected. No two releases are the same (might be stretching it but it is a very diverse and large catalog
